The History of Surrey from the Pre Settlement Era to the Beginnings of Urban Development.

Jack Brown is an historian associated with the Surrey Historical Society. His slide shows and lectures provide an excellent window to Surrey’s past. From First Nations, to early European contact and settlement up to the beginnings of urban development, Jack provides a lively and insightful history of our region.

Fashion in British Columbia from 1909 to 1939

Internationally renowned fashion historian Ivan Sayers has been fascinating audiences with his lectures and stunning fashion shows for many years. His knowledge of fashion history is as unrivalled as is his collection of antique clothing. He will discuss fashion in British Columbia during White Rock’s formative years 1909-1939.

March 21 Ralph Heading

Treasure of Sir Francis Drake

Local Historian Ralph Heading makes the argument that famed English explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake came to Semiahmoo Bay in 1579 with a ship full of captured Spanish treasure.

The Bounty of Boundary Bay

Join us for a series of exhibit-related programs that will enhance your enjoyment of White Rock’s natural heritage. Visit the Museum between 1 and 2 pm, where a volunteer naturalist will introduce you to the inhabitants of our live Seaquarium. You’ll even get a chance to touch a few of the creatures!

What’s it like to dive beneath the waves of Boundary Bay?

Ocean Pro Divers present a slide show and presentation in the Museum’s meeting room featuring underwater photography from the waters around White Rock. Light refreshments will be served. This event is FREE to the public, but please call 604.541.2222 to ensure your spot.

Friends of Semiahmoo Bay will present after-school Earth Day activities in our Meeting Room from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.

National Aboriginal Day/White Rock History Day

Come down to White Rock’s beautiful waterfront to celebrate Canada Day by the Bay! Along with all the other activities put on by the City, the Museum will have family games and activities to help wish our country a happy birthday.

Saturday, June 6

Join us at 2 pm for a virtual trip into the coastal waters of BC with renowned underwater photographer Carole Volkanier-Pope. Light refreshments will be served. This presentation will follow our regular Saturday touch-tank programming from 1 to 2 pm.
